How We Work
From Vision to Masterpiece
A collaborative journey guided by 30 years of sculptural mastery — your idea, brought to enduring life in stone, bronze, or marble.
The Art of Commission
A Process Built on Trust and Craft
Commissioning a sculpture is one of the most personal artistic decisions you will ever make. It requires trust — trust that your vision will be understood, honoured, and translated into a permanent work of art that exceeds your expectations.
Our six-step process is designed to give you complete clarity, creative input, and confidence at every stage. We do not begin cutting marble or casting bronze until you are fully satisfied with every detail of the design. The result is a sculpture as unique as the story behind it.
The Six Steps
Your Commission, Step by Step
Every commission follows this proven path — refined over three decades to ensure the finest result and a rewarding experience from first conversation to final installation.
Initial Consultation
Every masterpiece begins with a conversation. We take the time to deeply understand your vision — the purpose of the sculpture, its intended location, the emotions you want it to evoke, and any reference imagery or inspirations you have. This consultation can take place in our studio, via video call, or at your site. There is no charge and no obligation. We simply listen.
Duration: 60–90 minutes · In-studio, on-site, or virtual · No charge
Design Proposal & Concept Art
Based on our consultation, our lead artist develops a detailed design proposal. This includes scaled concept sketches, material recommendations, finish options, and a preliminary size specification. For complex figurative works, we may produce digital renders or clay maquettes (small-scale models) so you can visualise the final piece in three dimensions before any commitment is made.
Timeline: 1–2 weeks · Includes scaled sketches and maquette if required
Agreement & Commission Terms
Once the design is approved, we formalise the commission with a clear agreement covering scope, specifications, timeline, payment schedule, and delivery. We require a 40% deposit to commence work. Our agreements are transparent — no hidden costs, no vague deliverables. You will know exactly what you are receiving and when. All intellectual property rights to the final design are transferred to you upon completion.

Creation & Progress Updates
With the commission confirmed, our artisans begin the creation process. Depending on the material and complexity, this may involve hand-carving from a marble block, lost-wax bronze casting, or precision stone fabrication. You receive photographic progress updates at key milestones — roughed-out form, detailed carving, surface finishing — and are invited to visit the studio for an in-progress review. Your feedback shapes the final result.

Final Review & Approval
Before delivery, we conduct a formal final review — either in-studio or via high-resolution photography and video walkthrough. Every surface detail, finish, and specification is checked against the approved design. The remaining 60% balance is settled at this stage. We do not ship or install until you have given your full approval. For significant works, we offer supervised installation at your site to ensure perfect placement.

Delivery, Installation & Aftercare
We handle all packaging, crating, and logistics — whether the sculpture is travelling across the city or across the world. For international commissions, we manage customs documentation and specialist art freight. After installation, we provide a full care guide for the specific material and finish. Our lifetime craftsmanship guarantee means that if a defect in our work ever emerges, we will address it — no questions, no charge.

Common Questions
Everything You Need to Know
Commissioning a bespoke sculpture is a significant undertaking. Here are answers to the questions our clients ask most often. If your question is not listed, we are happy to answer it directly.
Ask a QuestionTimelines vary significantly depending on the complexity, size, and material of the sculpture. A smaller decorative marble piece might be completed in 8–12 weeks, while a large figurative bronze monument can take 9–18 months. We provide a precise timeline in your commission agreement before work begins, and we adhere to it.
Every commission is unique and priced accordingly. Factors include material, size, complexity, number of figures, finish, and installation requirements. Smaller commissions typically begin at $3,500. Significant figurative or monumental works range from $15,000 to $150,000 or more. We are always transparent about pricing — you will receive a detailed breakdown before committing.
Yes. We frequently work from photographs, drawings, digital references, or existing sculptures that a client loves. We can produce faithful reproductions, scale adaptations, or artistic interpretations of reference material. For portrait sculptures of individuals, we require multiple reference photos and, where possible, a live sitting session.
Yes — we have shipped sculptures to over 42 countries. We handle all export documentation, specialist crating, art freight coordination, and customs clearance. Our logistics partners specialise in fine art and fragile goods. We have delivered sculptures to private estates, public plazas, churches, and corporate headquarters on six continents.
The design phase is specifically for iteration. You are encouraged to request changes — proportions, pose, expression, material, size — until the concept is exactly right. We do not commence fabrication until you have approved the design in writing. Minor adjustments during creation are accommodated; significant scope changes after fabrication begins may affect timeline and cost.
Our guarantee covers any defect attributable to our materials or craftsmanship — a structural fault, a surface failure, or any imperfection that emerges as a result of how the sculpture was made. If this occurs at any point in the sculpture's life, we will restore or replace the affected work at no charge. This guarantee is transferable if you sell or gift the sculpture.
Absolutely. We welcome studio visits at any stage of the process — it is one of the privileges of commissioning a bespoke work. You can see the raw marble block, watch the roughing-out process, observe the fine detail work, and experience the foundry casting process for bronze commissions. Many clients find a studio visit one of the most memorable parts of the entire commission experience.
Yes. Most of our commissions are for permanent outdoor installation. We select materials specifically for their outdoor durability — Italian marble, cast bronze, cast stone, granite, and Travertine all weather beautifully over decades with minimal maintenance. We provide specific care and sealing instructions for every outdoor piece, and our structures are engineered for safe permanent mounting.
